Latham & Watkins’ Global Restructuring and Insolvency Group has developed an innovative app that decodes both commonplace and complex legal acronyms and industry slang. From “Abandonment” to “Zone of Insolvency,” the firm’s Book of Jargon: Global Restructuring® iPhone app is a free interactive glossary of legal and regulatory terminology. The app features a library of more than 1,000 terms specific to the global restructuring and insolvency market. It also allows users both experienced restructuring professionals and those new to the sector to cross-reference different entries with a quick touch of the screen.

John Houghton, Head of European Restructuring and Global Co-Chair of the Restructuring, Insolvency & Workouts Practice Group, commented:

“The global restructuring Book of Jargon® app is the latest app in the very popular Latham & Watkins Book of Jargon® series. The app provides people in the global restructuring market with a quick and easy way to demystify specialist terminology, acronyms and slang commonly used in that market. This resource can be used on-the-go and represents a deep archive of information that will be of benefit to everyone in the international restructuring field, no matter what their experience and background.”

“The restructuring Book of Jargon® app is a great example of Latham & Watkins using modern technology in the context of international, cross-border business,” added New York-based partner Mitchell Seider, who also serves as a Global Co-Chair of the Restructuring, Insolvency & Workouts Practice Group.
